As of late, Singapore's economy was seen to be dwindling down. This is due to their manufacturing industry to be in a slump. This business sector has contributed to the country's economy in recent years that when this tragedy has happened, it greatly affected the growth of their economy. To find out more on this topic, below is a news article taken from the website of BBC News. It reads:
"Singapore's economy stalls as manufacturing slump"
Singapore's economic growth stalled in the second quarter as manufacturing activity in the country plunged. Growth was 0.5% in the three months to the end of June compared with a year earlier, a sharp decline from 9.3% growth in the previous quarter. Singapore authorities said the sharp turnaround was led by a drop in demand for semiconductor computer chips. Manufacturing was down 5.5% in the second quarter compared with a year ago. Singapore has been struggling to maintain last year's record pace of growth. Compared to the previous three months, GDP contracted at a rate equivalent to an annual 7.8%.
The weaker-than-expected numbers have led to concerns that the city-state may not be able to meet its growth targets for the year.
"The growth forecast of 5-7% that the government has is looking a bit too positive," said Chua Bin of Bank of America-Merrill Lynch.
The services sector recorded modest growth of 3.3% year-on-year, down from 7.6% in the January-March period, reflecting a slowdown in the distribution and financial sectors, the Trade and Industry Ministry said."
The news article was dated July 14, 2011 so it is still pretty recent. Many companies that has seen and read about this might have already caught on and have decided to pull out their marketing campaigns that target this country. They should always remember that all is not lost. Remember, for every dark cloud there will always be a silver lining.
Like every problem in this world, there will always be a solution to it. In this case, the solution to this dilemma is for a business to outsource to a telemarketing company. In these call centers reside cold calling experts where they can contact prospects residing in Singapore expertly and with just a single phone call.
Marketing campaigns, such as business lead generation, can benefit well in outsourced telemarketing services. Even if the countries economy has fallen down a notch, telemarketing can still be used to generate quality leads from this locale. The process of outsourcing to these outbound call centers can be employed to lower down overall costs. For instance as stated in the previous paragraph, it can lower down travel costs significantly. Secondly, the business no longer need to hire extra people, build a new office space, nor get the appropriate technology for the campaign as all of those can be handled by the telephone marketing company.
Lessening down on costs is vital for the campaign and the business' welfare, especially when they are in Singaporean soil. When they go for a low-cost solution to generate quality leads for their business, they have a sturdy chance in creating good income even in these trying times.
When generating strong leads through this low-cost solution, a company can make the most out of their campaign with a significant increase in their return of capital. Ultimately, outsourcing mean that breaking even nor losing hard-earned cash will neither be an option for the result of the campaign.
